Since Kenny was on vacation in Guatemala, Robin had been busy finding the best possible temp rider for her Western horses, should the need have arose. And of course, it did, in the form of a rodeo going on out of the country.
Arrangements were made and not two days later, Laura and Snapdragon could be found both groomed and polished to what they hoped was near perfection, waiting to compete. As the woman held a loose grip on the leather reins connecting her to the stallion, she glanced upwards towards the overcast sky, suddenly displeased with the idea of the chance of rain.
"It's okay boy. You're gonna do great." She cooed, stroking the elegant cheekbone of her temporary companion after noticing his increased interest in the other horses.
The humidity sent out from the clouds overhead was stirring up the musty scent of earth and horses from the ground, which wasn't unpleasant but it only added to the slight discomfort of faux dampness on Laura's skin.
When it came time to lead the loud stallion into the arena, he followed like a puppy; albeit a slightly more proudly carried puppy, obediently following on her heel without entering her personal space or being too pushy.
Charmed by his behaviour, it brought a small smile to Laura's previously flat held lips as he immediately eased into the correct position without any extra help from his handler.
